Improve your Business

Attract and retain top talent

The next generation of workers is demanding more than a paycheck, they want a purpose.

Research shows that millennials are looking for more than work-life balance, which means having enough time and energy to enjoy life outside of work.

They also are looking for work–life integration, which means applying themselves to something that they feel passionate about, so that they can fulfill both an economic need and a need for a higher purpose.

Becoming a B Corp will help attract, retain, and engage top talent.

Competitive Advantage

Becoming a B Corp allows a business to proclaim who they are and what they care about. It immediately lets customers and clients know that their money is going beyond profit by leaning into a better way of doing business.

Using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems is a positive, innovative, and compelling story that generates a high level of trust, loyalty, and interest.

By committing to making the world we live in a better place, B Corps are redefining what it means to be a sustainable company, and customers LOVE them for it.

Becoming a B Corp gives you a competitive advantage.

Help tackle some of the worlds biggest problems

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) are a set of objectives adopted by the UN in 2015 as a universal call to action to solve some of the world's most complex problems.

The goals cover a range of very important issues from climate action to gender equality and seek to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure all people have the ability and opportunity to enjoy peace and prosperity.

Each question in the B Impact Assessment is linked to an SDG, as a business measures its impact, it has the opportunity to make improvements and transition its business model to effectively work towards achieving the SDGs.

Not only does becoming a B Corp improve your business on the micro-scale, but it also has positive impacts and improvements on the macro-scale. It is an extraordinary opportunity to become part of the movement to define the 'next economy' one that supports all life!

Becoming a B Corp gives you a chance to help solve some of the world's biggest problems!

Be purpose-driven and Impact led

Impact Business Models (IBMs) are the ways that a business is designed to create a specific positive benefit/outcome for one of its stakeholders. They may be based on their product, a particular process or activity, or the structure of the business.

Some examples of IBMs are; worker-owned, producer cooperative, resource conservation, services for the underserved, designed to give, mission locked... the list goes on and on, to learn more about different types of IBMs click here.

The exciting bit is that YOU can choose the IBM that aligns with what YOU care about and will align your business with whatever it is YOU want to have a positive impact on. What could be more beautiful than that?

Becoming a B Corp allows you and your business to be purpose-led and impact-driven.

Step 3

Learning how to leverage your certification. B Corp certification objectively demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability at a time when more consumers support companies dedicated to social and environmental change.

Recent studies state that consumers will pay more for sustainable brands, and sales of consumer goods with a demonstrated commitment to sustainability have grown more than 4% globally, while those without grew less than 1%.

B Corp allows you to spot the brands that have an incredible ethos and are continually striving to do things better for their team, the planet, and the people within it!

Step 4

The fees for certification are outlined here.

A business DOES NOT need to certify to use the BIA. It is FREE to any business looking to measure and manage its impact. However, most businesses understand the ROI for certifying and choose to become part of the movement for the reasons stated in the section above.

The B Corp certification is valid for 3 years. At the end of that timeframe, your business will need to re-certify.

This allows the business to continue to improve its operations, processes, procedures, and positive impact well into the future.
